Liberia is a city in northern Costa Rica, near the Nicoya Peninsula. In its historic center is the Guanacaste Museum with historical and cultural exhibits. The Sabanero Museum exhibits local cowboy collectibles and photographs. The Ermita de La Agonía is a colonial style Catholic church with a white facade. To the northeast is the active volcano Rincon de la Vieja and the dormant Miravalles.
